Choosing e-commerce icons
Shop icons guide people from browsing to paying. Each one should be instantly clear, because confusion at checkout costs sales.
An icon for every step
- Browse: search, filter, category, heart for a wishlist
- Decide: star rating, size guide, compare, in stock
- Buy: cart or bag, card, wallet, secure lock
- After the order: delivery truck, package, return, receipt
Pick a pack that covers the whole journey, so the cart in the header matches the one in the checkout summary.
Cart or bag?
People understand both. Carts are more common for large catalogs and groceries; bags suit fashion and boutique stores. Choose one and use it everywhere, including the badge that shows how many items are in it.
Trust and payment rows
Rows such as "free shipping", "secure payment" and "easy returns" work best with simple line or line color icons at 32–40 px, each with a short label underneath. Payment provider logos belong to their owners, so use the official badges those providers publish.
Mobile navigation
Most shopping happens on phones. A bottom bar with home, search, wishlist, cart and account works best with five icons or fewer, each with a short label. Show the active tab with a filled icon, and put the item count in a small badge on the corner of the cart.
Banners and category tiles
For sale banners and category tiles, flat, gradient and 3D artwork adds personality. Keep interface icons such as cart, account and search in one-color line or solid styles, and save colorful artwork for marketing areas so the two don't compete.
Before you download
- Map every step of your checkout and list the icons each step needs.
- Choose a cart or a bag and use it everywhere.
- Use the official badges for payment providers.
- Give every trust icon a short text label.
- Check that interface icons stay readable at 20 px on a phone.

Questions about e-commerce icons
Short answers on formats, editing and use.
Should my store use a cart or a bag icon?
Both are widely understood. Carts suit large catalogs and groceries; bags suit fashion and smaller boutiques. Use the same one everywhere, including the item-count badge.
Which icons build trust at checkout?
A lock for secure payment, a truck for shipping, a return arrow for returns and a shield or badge for guarantees, each with a short text label.
Can I use payment logos from icon packs?
For card and wallet logos, use the official badges published by each payment provider. Generic icons such as a card, wallet or cash are fine to use in any style.
Can I use e-commerce icons in commercial projects?
Yes. IconHub icons are free for personal and commercial projects with attribution. You can't resell them as files or use them in a logo. The license page has the full summary.
